A Hand to hold…  An Ear to listen… A Heart that cares!

The St. Mary Council on Aging is a private, non-profit corporation and is governed by a Board of Directors.  It is funded by Federal, State and Local municipalities, St. Mary Parish Government, United Way of South Louisiana, and Grants and Foundations.  Activities and services of the St. Mary Council on Aging are open to those age 60 and over across St. Mary Parish, without regard to race, color or national origin.

St. Mary Council on Aging follows all the guidelines and restrictions of the Older American Act programs.  Although a person 60 and older is eligible to receive services, he/she is not entitled to them as in other programs such as:  Social Security, Food Stamps, SSI, ect… Service providers must determine which eligible applicants would benefit most from the services, and then utilize the available funds to service as many people as possible.  Our clients are treated with consideration, dignity and respect.

A call to the Agency office (337-907-6310) to inquire about services either by a potential client, or someone on their behalf, is the first step towards determining eligibility.
